Beverly School for the Deaf (BSD)

 

 

Located in Beverly, Massachusetts, CCCBSD is a school for Deaf and Hearing children ages 3 to 22 with unique developmental, physical, and communication needs. The Beverly School for the Deaf Program provides comprehensive educational and therapeutic programming to Deaf/HH students with and without special developmental needs. Our 204 day program maintains a low student to teacher ratio of 5:3. With electronic whiteboards and iPad technology in each classroom, students access instruction across a number of modalities including: American Sign Language - ASL (bi/bi), oral language, technology and various AAC. Professional development groups meet weekly to support the learning needs of students and the instructional needs of faculty.

Seeking classroom teachers with exceptional instructional and communication skills. Candidates should have strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL). These positions will allow us to expand classrooms for the upcoming school year. This position supports Deaf/HH students with developmental, physical, and communication challenges across their school day. Classrooms receive support from a complete team of specialists including: SLPs, OTs, PTs, BCBA, School Psychologist, Assistive Technology support, Adaptive Physical Education, Curriculum Specialists, and more. Highly collaborative team setting with all of the positive benefits of a private, specialized campus in Beverly.

 

Candidate must have a high comfort level working with children presenting with special needs and hearing loss, instructional technology and implementing a range of language and academic or therapeutic tools.

This full-time (37.5 hrs), benefited position offers regular professional development, opportunities for growth, and a team settings.

Starting salary for a first year masters-level licensed teacher is $72,120/yr. Additional benefits include: weekly professional development, ongoing curriculum and clinical support and collaboration to enhance classroom and school learning. Positions now open for the 2023-2024 school year.
